Salt and Light | How to Follow Jesus in the Negative World
Matthew 5:13-16 • October 2026 • Pastor Seth Nolan
Summary:
How do we follow Jesus when faithfulness begins to cost more? In Matthew 5:13–16, Jesus calls His people the salt of the earth and the light of the world—distinct from the world around them, yet fully present within it.
In this message from Life in the Negative World, we discover what it means to live with presence without compromise: staying distinct without isolation, visible without becoming performative, and faithful without needing the world’s approval. Jesus is forming a people whose lives make Christ visible and whose life together gives the world a glimpse of His kingdom.
